Jamestown man charged with murder in connection to death of 8-month-old

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man was arraigned Monday morning on an indictment charging him with murder related to the death of a baby, according to the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office.

On April 22, it is alleged that 26-year-old Sean Thomas intentionally strangled and shook 8-month-old Aniyah Turk. She was severely injured and put on life support before she succumbed to her injuries in May, officials said.

Thomas received an eight count indictment charging with him second-degree murder among other related crimes.

He was held on bail of $1 million cash or a $2 million property bond and is scheduled to return to court in July for further pre-trial proceedings.

i knew the family personally and what he did was messed up but has anyone brought into consideration that he was going through mental health issues and the mother of the child was just sticking he kids onto him, making him watch them and some of the time she didn't even ask she and not also the fact is when this happened to this little girl the mother was in the house when it happened and she is not receiving any repercussions. I'm not saying I'm on his side, but way is he the only one locked away and her mother is walking free when she was in the house not watching her own kids not to mention the conditions of the house they where living in. its not okay to have old dog shit on your toddlers bed. the house they where living I was disgusting. i can't handle everyone pointing fingers a him. yes, he did something horrible to that little girl and she did not deserve it but the way that mother is walking free is not okay. she had her kids living a horrible condition. and now she has none of her kids. they need to not just look into him but also her mother because all this is bullshit. take this into consideration and have a nice day know all of this!
