Salmon fishing in Northern California could be canceled again
REDDING, Calif. - The Pacific Fishery Management Council has recommended to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to cancel this year's salmon season. The action would shut down both commercial and recreational salmon fishing. The recommendation cites previous years of drought, wildfires and algae blooms as reasons for a sharp decline in the salmon health and population.
