MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Three Middlesboro High School seniors signed to cheer with Lincoln Memorial University on Wednesday, May 15. Ryleigh Ausmus is on the left, Alexus Marsee is in the middle, and Shelby Vaughn is on the right. The three seniors will compete on the Division II level.
Emma Owens will continue her basketball career in Virginia
HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - Harlan Lady Dragon Emma Owens signed to play college basketball at Southwest Virginia on Tuesday. Owens averaged 13.4 points per game last season, making her the team’s third-leading scorer. In their first-round district win over Harlan County, Owens scored 11 points and grabbed two rebounds.

(WYMT) - On July 10, 2023, Jacen Post jumped into action to save the life of someone experiencing a heat stroke. “There wasn’t really much going through my mind,” Post said. “I just thought back to the training that we had earlier in the summer and I just put it into action. You don’t really think too much about what you’re doing. It’s more so just muscle memory. We hear the call for help and we jump in and go over and help.”
