ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A homeless action plan is gaining support in Tompkins County.
The project Home, Together: Tompkins aims to expand emergency shelter, and build 100 units of housing. The Ithaca Urban Renewal Agency endorsed the plan last week. Ithaca’s Common Council will also consider supporting it.
Ithaca Alderperson George McGonigal says affordable housing is a root issue in the city’s homelessness problem.
