Orlando Man Killed in Early Morning Crash with Semi-Truck in Orange County

Orange County, FL - A fatal crash early this morning in Orange County claimed the life of a 41-year-old man from Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:03 a.m. on Jones Avenue, east of Laughlin Road. The victim, driving a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck, lost control of the vehicle while traveling eastbound. The truck veered off the roadway and collided with a 1995 Freightliner semi-trailer that was stopped at a driveway facing north.

Authorities identified the victim as a 41-year-old male from Orlando. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Emergency responders transported him to AdventHealth Apopka, where he was pronounced deceased. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the semi-trailer, a 70-year-old man from Apopka, was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. No further details have been released at this time.
