A thrilling new horror movie was just added to Netflix, but don’t watch it if you scare easily.

Grave Torture is now streaming. The 2024 movie comes from Indonesian writer and director Joko Anwar, who’s known for his thrillers Impetigore, Satan’s Slaves and Satan’s Slaves 2: Communion.

Netflix may be gearing up for Halloween with the recent horror movies it's added, like the 2022 film Watcher and 2016 movie The Autopsy of Jane Doe.

The new movie is based on a 2012 short film of the same name. It follows Sita, played by Faradina Mufti, whose parents are killed in a suicide bombing attack that was religiously motivated.

She’s grown distrustful of religion, making it her mission to prove it’s nonexistence.

Sita looks for the most sinful person alive. Once they die, she goes into his grave to prove there’s no torment from the afterlife. She is quick to lean she should let that which is unknown alone.

Stephen Porzio of film blog Joe said the movie is full of intense twists and turns. The slow-burn comes to a head in the final 10 minutes, where viewers are given with a rewarding payoff.
