Dave Grohl's cheating apology statement sparks same joke from Foo Fighters fans

Everybody's cracking the same gag after Dave Grohl dropped the news about his secret child. The Foo Fighters leader told his followers that he fathered a child outside his marriage to Jordyn Blum.

Via a post on his official Instagram page , Grohl confirmed that he had a "new baby daughter", and while it left fans gobsmacked, some think the rockstar "missed a trick."

On social media , music fans shared their opinions on the bombshell news, with one user racking up over 60,000 likes for a quip aimed at the announcement.

Grohl announced: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."

Coupled with a screen grab of the above declaration, the user chimed in: "Dave Grohl missed a trick not opening this statement with 'I've got another confession to make," reports the Mirror .

This cheeky comment spins off the Foo Fighters' smash hit Best of You lyrics. Best of You soared to the top of the rock charts in the US, Canada, and UK, and it wasn't the only track referenced in jest about Grohl's recent announcement. One user quipped: "There goes my hero," alluding to another massive hit by the Foo Fighters, My Hero.

Some thought that kicking off with a line from a Foo Fighters song might not have been the wisest move for Grohl, as one user commented: "To be fair, if I was his wife and he started his IG post off with, 'I've got another confession to make...' I would probably explode."
