Thousands of people are without power in Iredell County on Saturday night, according to Duke Energy’s Outage Map.

Special Olympics Iredell County Cheerleading coaches Jeanne Warren and Kim Sipes are getting accustomed to getting up early on Saturday mornings and hopping in a van. The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone in Iredell, Rowan, Gaston, Mecklenburg, and Cabarrus Counties.
