Caitlin Clark, Dawn Staley, Peyton Manning and more attend premiere of ABC ‘Full Court Press’ docuseries

Back in March, ESPN announced an upcoming four-part series on Iowa Hawkeyes’ star senior guard Caitlin Clark, South Carolina Gamecocks’ senior center Kamilla Cardoso, and UCLA Bruins’ sophomore guard Kiki Rice. That series comes from Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and Connor Schell’s Words + Pictures.

That Full Court Press docuseries , directed by Kristen Lappas ( Giannis: The Marvelous Journey , Dream On ) is set to make its TV debut on Saturday (starting at 1 p.m. ET) and Sunday (starting at 12:30 p.m. ET) on ABC. It will have further streaming availability on ESPN+ and Hulu. But it premiered in Indianapolis (where Clark now plays for the WNBA’s Indiana Fever) Monday night at the Tobias Theater.

Clark, Manning, South Carolina coach Dawn Staley, Iowa coach Lisa Bluder, and more were all in attendance. And that produced some notable moments, including the top photo of an on-stage panel. Here are some further photos from that event:

As sports fans get ready for the madness of March, ESPN today announced the upcoming debut of Full Court Press – a new ESPN+ Original Series that chronicles the ongoing journeys of senior Iowa guard Caitlin Clark, senior South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso and sophomore UCLA guard Kiki Rice. From Iowa’s historic preseason game that broke attendance records all the way through the WNBA draft in April, the series uses unparalleled access, exclusive interviews, and unique game footage, to transport audiences into the lives of these exceptional athletes. Full Court Press follows them as they steer their celebrated programs towards a national championship, all while navigating the pressures that come with representing the game during a pivotal era in women’s basketball.

Full Court Press has been embedded with these three players throughout this record-breaking season, capturing key moments such as Kamilla Cardoso’s game-winning three-pointer to send South Carolina to the SEC Championship; documenting Kiki Rice’s experiences as the first college athlete, male or female, to have an NIL deal with Jordan brand; and filming the lead up to Caitlin Clark passing Kelsey Plum as the all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s basketball and passing Pete Maravich as the all-time leading scorer in the history of NCAA collegiate basketball in her final year at Iowa. The show will take audiences from Paris to Brazil, from sold out arenas in Baton Rouge to Iowa City for the biggest matchups, all to give fans a window into this unique moment in the history of the sport.

There’s certainly going to be interest in this series. Clark’s WNBA entry is driving incredible attention, but Cardoso joining that league also has drawn a lot of notice, including with massive numbers of fans watching her preseason game on a cellphone stream . (Unfortunately, an injury for her there means she’ll miss a fair bit of regular-season action.) Meanwhile, Rice is staying in college for now with UCLA, but has drawn attention for her play there (helping them to the Sweet 16 this year) and her Jordan Brand partnership .

Thus, there will definitely be lots looking to check out this docuseries. And it’s a logical effort for both Omaha Productions and Words + Pictures , which have both done a lot of notable projects to date. We’ll see how this one works out for them, but they certainly got a lot of big names to the premiere on Monday.
