Caitlin Clark is the National Player of the Year.
The sensational star for the Iowa Hawkeyes earned the Naismith Player of the Year award after a fantastic season with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
“Iowa’s Caitlin Clark was named Naismith National Player of the Year on Wednesday,” Yahoo! Sports wrote. She unseated reigning NPOY Aliyah Boston of South Carolina and Villanova star Maddy Siegrist to win the coveted honor.
The Iowa Hawkeyes Women’s Basketball Twitter announced the news to huge fanfare.

Clark averaged an absurd 27.3 points, 8.6 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game this season. he ranked first in the country in APG and third in PPG behind the prolific Siegrist and Drexel’s Keishana Washington. Clark also led the nation in 3-pointers made per game with 3.5.
In her career, she’s averaged 27.0 points, 7.9 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field.
She has become a superstar in March as she’s helped power Iowa to the Final Four. They will play Boston and the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks in their Final Four matchup. The Gamecocks haven’t lost in quite some time and were the wire-to-wire AP No. 1 team. So it’ll be a matchup of heavyweights in Dallas.
Iowa has never won a National Championship in women’s basketball before.
