Kaz is a book lover who has a house cow. Here is a hint: it isn’t a real cow, but it is cow-sized and cow-colored. Appa, her poor, innocent, sleepy baby, is a very HUGE great Dane. Given his size and coloring, it is understandable why Kaz calls him a house cow.

Kaz probably sensed future size issues when Appa weighed 20 pounds at eight weeks old. Although Danes are typically larger than life, that was a good indicator that this good boi might be breaking some records.

Great Danes stand as tall as 32 inches at the shoulder on all four feet but tower over people when on their hind legs, “standing.” They are a great family dog , offering patience with children and friendliness to most people and animals . Great Danes are a very protective breed and alert home guardians. They will respond quickly and courageously if their family is under threat. Even older, mature Danes maintain some of their “puppiness” into old age.

Their gangly movements suggest they have yet to figure out how those long legs work, but they can also be graceful. Although Appa might move gracefully, he is NOT a morning dog. Kaz made the compilation video to show how difficult it is to get Appa up and moving in the morning. Of course, Appa also has issues going to bed by himself.
