“When Your Reactive Great Dane Adopts Two Orphaned Kittens”

A dog mom was having trouble with her Great Dane’s aggressive behavior, so she was totally floored when the pooch fell head over heels for two tiny kittens! When Lisa Gerken decided to foster a pair of abandoned kitties, she was really worried about how the larger animal would react. She explained on social media that Winnie had trouble playing nicely with her other pets. At first, she wasn’t even sure she wanted to introduce these tiny creatures to the massive pup.

However, the Great Dane surprised everyone by immediately adopting these abandoned kittens as her own! Winnie’s behavior around these adorable felines was like nothing her owner had ever seen before. Lisa caught the most adorable footage of the big pooch watching over her new siblings. Seeing this dog snuggle with the foster kitties, you wouldn’t believe she had an aggressive bone in her body!

Meanwhile, the kittens seemed to be totally at ease around the Great Dane in Lisa’s sweet video. Despite their size difference, the teeny critters weren’t afraid of Winnie at all. They were very comfortable being in the dog’s space, whether it was during playtime or a nap!

These kittens have had a huge impact on the Great Dane’s personality.

In another clip, Lisa gave a little more background on the situation. She reiterated that her family had such a hard time dealing with Winnie “bullying” the other pets in the house before the cats came along.

“So, when we saw this nurturing side of her with these two kittens, it just blew us away,” Lisa said.

Unfortunately, this woman is only fostering the kitties, not adopting them. Eventually, they’ll move on to a more permanent home. However, Lisa said that she hopes to foster more kittens in the future, especially since these two seem to have brought out the warm side of her Great Dane’s personality!
