The persistent rain that has soaked Central Indiana since Tuesday morning has stopped, and practice for the 108th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge is underway today at Indianapolis Motor Speedway after a rain delay of five hours, five minutes.
Practice will be extended to 7 p.m. ET on the 2.5-mile oval. Practice Thursday also has been expanded to 10 a.m.-6 p.m. due to the limited track time Tuesday and today due to rain. The opening day practice was washed out after just 23 minutes of track time.
