INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting from earlier this week.

Police said 29-year-old Frank Alexander II faces a preliminary charge of murder in the death of 47-year-old Christopher Brown.

Around 9:45 on Monday, April 22, IMPD officers responded to a shooting in the 2300 block of Hillside Avenue. They found Brown lying in the street; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office ruled his death a homicide.

After identifying Alexander as the suspect, detectives located him on South Harding Street with help from IMPD’s Violent Crime Unit (VCU), US Marshals, IMPD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), K9, Interdiction and IMPD Community Resource Units (CRU).

Investigators believe Brown and Alexander knew each other and said the shooting stemmed from an argument.

Police took Alexander in for questioning and subsequently arrested him on one count of murder. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make a final charging decision in the case.
