INDIANAPOLIS – A person died and two juveniles were injured in a shooting on the west side of Indianapolis late Wednesday night.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers received numerous calls around 11:30 p.m. about shots fired in the 400 block of Mariway Rd. When officers arrived, they located a car that had crashed into a mobile home with a male deceased inside.

The deceased was later identified as 20-year-old Ian Kenneth Le Quinn Neberz.

Officers also found two male juveniles with gunshot wounds; both were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The mobile home was occupied; no one inside was hurt.

While IMPD said several people saw the aftermath, they had yet to talk to anyone who witnessed the shooting itself.

“There are numerous people that are coming forward, which is awesome – we appreciate the community doing that. But the only thing they’re able to tell us right now is that they heard shots fired and looked out and heard people screaming and people running,” said Capt. Don Weilhammer with IMPD.

Police also stated that the two juveniles are not cooperating with the investigation.

“Unfortunately, the two juveniles are not giving us any details right now as to what occurred out here, and there are no known witnesses that actually saw the incident,” Weilhammer said.

“We had numerous calls, ranging anywhere from 7 to 25 shots supposedly being fired and they’re still trying to find shell casings in the roadway and on the grounds by the trailers,” Weilhammer said.

Police do not know if the male found in the car is a juvenile or an adult.

Anyone with information is asked to contact IMPD at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
