Registration is underway for one of Indianapolis’ most unique fitness challenges: the Iron Eagle Paddle & Run. The 10th edition of this popular event is set for 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 15 at Eagle Creek Park, 7840 W. 56th St., Indianapolis.

The Iron Eagle is regularly named as runners’ favorite event of the entire year. The route tests participants’ skills on land (a three-mile wooded trail run beginning at Eagle Creek Beach), on water (a 1.5-mile canoe or kayak paddle on Eagle Creek Reservoir), and on land again (a 2.5-mile run back to the beach). Individuals as well as relay teams can compete.

Every Iron Eagle participant receives a carved wooden finisher’s medal, an event T-shirt and an invitation to the legendary Quaff ON! Brewing Company post-race party at Eagle Creek Park’s Earth Discovery Center.

The Iron Eagle Paddle & Run is a fundraiser for the Eagle Creek Park Foundation. Registration is $60 before June 17; $70 by July 15, and $80 on the day of the event. Foundation members receive a $10 discount.
