INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating after a person was fatally shot at an east side apartment.
Capt. Don Weilhammer with IMPD said officers received calls of a person shot at the Reserves at Warren Park Apartments on the 9000 block of E. 10th St. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wound(s).
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified him as 24-year-old Tytrail Dentaie Watkins.
According to Weilhammer, the incident appears to be targeted, and while the suspect is still at large, he does not believe there is a threat to the neighborhood.
He urges anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
“We would really appreciate if people would give us a call that might have seen this because I find it hard to believe that even though it was at midnight, that nobody saw or heard anything,” said Weilhammer.
