In Indiana, state police are also preparing as thousands of people head to for the Indy 500 on Sunday.
Indiana State Police say that's the perfect recipe for a lot of traffic.
One of the biggest concerns is always drinking and driving.
“You know obviously people are going to be celebrating and some of that is going to involve drinking some alcoholic beverages and we just ask people to be responsible for that. Have a designated driver, don’t drive until that has had time to get out of your system if you are going to drive,” said Sgt. Ted Bohner, Indiana State Police.
There were 2-thousand crashes and 14 people died on Indiana roads during Memorial Day weekend, last year.
