Indiana Pacers game preview: Pacers carry momentum from impressive win back home, host Philadelphia 76ers

The Pacers and 76ers both will look to climb the standings on Saturday

The Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers will battle for the fourth and final time of the 2022-23 season on Saturday. The 76ers have won all three meetings so far.

The last two duels between the two teams have been decided by seven total points, including a game earlier this month. Philadelphia is in the best form of any team in the Eastern Conference right now.

Pacers vs 76ers Injury Report

For the Pacers, rookie Bennedict Mathurin (right ankle sprain), wing Kendall Brown (right tibia stress fracture), wing Chris Duarte (left ankle soreness), and All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton (right ankle sprain) are out. Trevelin Queen is questionable as a part of his two-way contract.

The 76ers have not released an injury report yet as they are on a back-to-back and played last night. Louis King, Mac McClung, and Jalen McDaniels missed their game on Friday in Charlotte.

Key Matchups

Myles Turner vs Joel Embiid: Myles Turner is in the midst of his best-ever season, but he still struggles against the 76ers. He had 10 points and zero rebounds against Philadelphia earlier this month and only played for 17 minutes due to foul trouble. Joel Embiid is a tough cover for Turner.

Truly, Embiid is a tough cover for everyone. He might just be the MVP frontrunner right now. The 76ers center is averaging 33.5 points per game and just scored 42 in Indianapolis a few weeks ago. He's incredible, and Turner will have to be better.

James Harden vs Andrew Nembhard: Andrew Nembhard has been the Pacers starting point guard with Tyrese Haliburton sidelined, and he has filled in well. He scored 24 points in the Pacers most recent outing and is taking the larger role in stride.

On Saturday, he will go against former MVP James Harden. Harden had 14 points and 20 assists against the Pacers earlier in March, so Nembhard's defense will be just as important as his offense in this outing.
