Owner’s death prompts South End ramen restaurant closure
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – South End’s Futo Buta will permanently close following the death of its founder and chef. The eatery announced the closure on social media over the weekend. It comes after what has been a difficult several months for the restaurant. Its founder and chef Michael Shortino died in September of last year. He was from New York and came to Charlotte in 2013. Shortino also operated Lincoln’s Haberdashery, which itself also closed last year.
