Bolingbrook Man Charged In Move Over Law After ISP Trooper Car Hit
An Illinois State Police trooper is recovering following a crash on I-55 in Will County. Authorities say the trooper’s stationary squad car was hit by a Toyota Corolla Monday night north of Route 59. The ISP squad car was parked on the right shoulder on Interstate 55 northbound near milepost 252, north of Route 59, with emergency lights activated, handling a traffic crash. The trooper was sitting inside of the squad car with his seatbelt fastened when his squad car was struck by a gray Toyota Corolla. The trooper was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Corolla, 31-year-old Asante Williams of Bolingbrook, was cited for the Move Over Law, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Improper Lane Usage.
Quincy man, Chicago woman facing heroin, gun charges after Monday arrest
QUINCY — A months-long investigation by the West Central Illinois Task Force led to the arrest of two people on Monday on drugs and weapons charges. The West Central Illinois Task Force, Illinois State Police, Adams County Sheriff’s Department and Quincy Police Department began investigating in early 2024 the sale of heroin in Quincy. Officers identified Latwaon McCray, 42, of Quincy as a possible target.

A man drove alongside a Chicago resident’s vehicle, displaying a firearm and yelling, at about 12:30 p.m. on May 8 on the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard. The man was last seen driving east on Interstate 290 from Austin in a silver Ford Edge with a Nevada registration.
Jonathan Mendoza murder: Chicago men allegedly attacked, then shot victim outside liquor store
CICERO, Ill. - Two Chicago men have been arrested in the murder of a Berwyn man earlier this month. On May 5, around 1:30 a.m., Cicero police responded to a gunshot victim outside Roosevelt Liquors at 4759 W. Roosevelt Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they located 24-year-old Jonathan Mendoza lying unresponsive in the roadway with several gunshot wounds to his upper body.
