Black bear spotted by multiple people in Corvallis
CORVALLIS, Ore. — Multiple people reported seeing a black bear in various locations across Corvallis on Sunday morning, the Corvallis Police Department reported. The bear was first spotted around 3 a.m. It was seen in central and west Corvallis, at the Linn-Benton Community College campus and then near the Oregon State University diary fields as it wandered out of town around 8 a.m., police said.

ODFW announces 2025 annual wildlife art contest
Artists are invited to compete in one or all three of ODFW’s 2025 stamp art competitions. The winning artist in each contest receives a $2,000 award and winning artwork is used to produce collector’s stamps and other promotional items with sale proceeds benefitting Oregon’s fish, wildlife, and their habitats. National Park Service director to visit campus as guest lecturer
Charles F. Sams III, director of the National Park Service, will be visiting Oregon State University on April 25 at 7 p.m. as a guest lecturer. Young Musicians & Artists: A fun and supportive experience for young creative students
The Pacific Northwest has a number of summer programs for youth that are geared to one specific area, such as instrumental music. But there is only one program that encompasses a wide swath of the arts – music, theater, dance, and the visual arts. You may not have heard of it, because it relies heavily on word-of-mouth. It’s called Young Musicians & Artists – YMA for short – and it has garnered the reputation as a magical place to nurture kids’ artistic interests in a supportive environment.

Biography: I’m a ceramics artist majoring in electrical engineering. I fell in love with wheel-throwing in highschool, and I’m happy to be able to continue throwing at oregon state’s craft center! After college I hope to get a job in the renewable energy field, and I hope to open my own pottery studio someday.
