The Independence, Mo., city council on Monday night voted to repeal the city’s ban on pit bulls. The vote came after months of pressure from animal advocates. Thousands of people signed a petition to repeal the decades-old ban. The ban will officially be lifted on Aug. 4. The city received over 600 pages worth of signatures of petitions which proposed the city to repeal the ban.
