Summer Kick-Off Party at the Aquatic Center
EL CENTRO – The El Centro Aquatic Center (ECAC), is kicking off this summer with a pool party on Saturday, June 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This event is the season opener for the Lazy River. Admission is free, but Small Cabanas rentals are $60 for the evening and Large Cabanas are $100 for the evening. The Cabanas must be paid for by 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9. The party features music and local food and refreshment vendors.

HOLTVILLE – The City of Holtville is hosting an Ice Cream Social fundraiser on Friday, June 9, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Holt Park at 570 Holt Road. The Holtville Fire Department, PK’s Krazy Kravings, and Cricket Wireless will be at the event featuring games and more.
Taking A Walk Through California
((4th Grade students taking a walk through California)....They will not even leave their classroom. Dogwood Elementary School will present the Walk Through California. Thursday and Friday the students will experience the diversde geaography of California, as well as the History, bringing key moments and key figures to life. The students will experience the birth of California during the Spanish colonization period, the Gold rush and the challenges faced by early settlers. They will be led by experienced educators throughout the two days. The Walk is aligned with the 4th grade California content standards, ensuring that it compliments the curriculum and reinforces classroom learning. The two day presentation will run from 8:30 to 11 am and from 12 noon to 2:30 pm at dogwood's MPR 44 Correll Road in Heber.

It will run from 6 pm to 10 pm. the event marks the season opener for the Lazy River and it promises an unforgettable experience for the entire community. Small Cabanas are $60 for the evening and the Large Cabanas are $100 for the evening. The Cabanas must be paid for by Friday, June 9th by 8 pm. The party will include local vendors selling delectable foods and refreshments, and DJ Robert Flynt will provide the music. Admission to the event is absolutely free. Ice Cream Social In Holtville
(A Fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Imperial Valley)....It is an Ice Cream Social. It will be held Friday at Holt Park. The event will run from 5-8 pm and will feature food vendors, PK's Krazy Kravings, as well as Ice Cream. The event is being hosted by the City of Holtville.
Find Your Voice
(County Library's Summer Reading Programs).....Summer Reading Programs are being offered at all Branches of the County Library. The Theme is Find Your Voice. At the Calipatria Branch they are featuring themed story times, crafts, singing and snacks. The program allows participants to win prizes by reading books. Registration is currently open, just drop by the library and sign-up. All Library programs are free. Children's program ages pre-school to 11, 3pm tp 5pm every Thursday, June 22 thru July 27th. Teen program for ages 12 to 17, 3pm to 5pm every Wednesday, June 21 thru July 26. For details, call the Calipatria Branch of the County Library. Cattle Call Royalty Contestants
(Cattle Call Royalty Contestants).....There are 7 contestants seeking a crown in the 67th annual Brawley Cattle Call Queen coronation. The first Cattle Call Queen was crowned in 1956. On May 30th The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Brawley announced the contestants vying for a Royalty spot. Aydria Macarenas is the only contestant running for Queen. Kalysta Stanley and Jordan Santana are running for Teen Queen, Savanna Hernandez and Italia Marquez are running for Junior Queen, and Kelsey Stanley and Emilia Morales are competing for Little Miss. The deadline to submit an application was May 21. The contestants will be meeting every week preparing for the contest and coronation in October.. The 2023 Brawley Cattle Call Queen Royalty Contest theme is Long Live Cowgirls....Past, Present, or Future.. Cattle Call Week is in November.
