Islander Girls’ Water Polo Blanks Steele Canyon 21-0 Your defending CIF DI Champion girls’ water polo team has returned to the pool for the 2023 regular season. The team returned nearly its entire core for its title defense run, and their experience and prowess showed immediately. As in their season opener versus Steele Canyon High School, the Islanders thrashed the Cougars to the tune of a 21-0 shutout victory. Putting to bed any idea of a championship hangover.

Ella Knutson recorded a triple-double as she poured in 31 points, secured 15 rebounds, came up with 10 steals and dished out 3 assists on Thursday night leading the Hillcrest Comets to a 62-57 win over Brandon-Evansville. On Nov. 18 at Eastlake High School’s (EHS) field, the first ever Metro Mesa league all-star field hockey game takes place. Each team was picked from the best players in the Metro Mesa and South Bay areas, from which they were then separated into a blue and a white team that competed against one another.
