Two schools in Bossier Parish were placed on restrictive movement Wednesday morning. According to Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office, Sun City Elementary School and Elm Grove Middle School were placed on restrictive movement Dec. 6 for a short period of time following an alleged single gunshot sound from a nearby neighborhood.

I have closely followed the Caddo Sheriff election and the legal challenge occurring now in Caddo Parish District Court. The Nickelson Petition (lawsuit) is 80 pages long. The first 14 pages of the suit contain the allegations of mistakes and irregularities. Most of the remaining 66 pages contain numerous “Notation of Irregularities in the Conduct of the Election” prepared by poll commissioners who were working at the various precincts at which the alleged defects occurred.

A woman shot and mortally wounded in her home in Shreveport’s Cedar Grove neighborhood early Friday, December 1, 2023, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s office. Cassie Williams, 30, was shot multiple times just before 7:19 a.m. in her residence in the 500 block of West 77th Street. BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a runaway teen. Officials say Caylien Robertson, 15, who lives in the 300 block of Bayou Loop in Bossier City, was last seen Sunday, Dec. 3. Robertson left the home at an unknown time without permission and did not show up for school Monday, the sheriff’s office says. Family members have been in contact with Robertson, who reportedly will not tell them where she is.

November was an important month for Caddo Parish, featuring good weather, the State Fair, football games, and the appointment of a new Juvenile Court Judge, Justin Courtney. The District Attorneys of the state met in Natchitoches to discuss key issues in preparation for 2024. The meeting, led by Billy Joe Harrington of Natchitoches Parish, focused on the increase in juvenile crimes involving guns.
