Person hurt after school bus crashes into Hyattsville home

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A school bus crashed into a home in Hyattsville on Thursday morning.

Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said in a post on X at 9:16 a.m. that the school bus crashed into a home in the 10000 block of Riggs Rd. between Powdermill Rd. and the beltway underpass.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service and Prince George’s County officials were both on the scene to help.

‘Small fire’ breaks out in Southwest DC police station

The house sustained structural damage and the driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The bus did not have any student passengers at the time and no one inside of the home was hurt, according to Prince George’s County Fire and EMS.
