HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) says two 17-year-olds have been arrested in connection to a shooting that sent one person to the hospital Friday.

HPD officers responded to a shooting call in the area of Kirkland Drive and Bridge Road around 4:15 p.m. Friday.

One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, an HPD spokesperson said.

HPD Spokesperson Sydney Martin said two 17-year-olds were taken into custody after the shooting and charged with assault in connection with the incident. She said both are being booked into Madison County Jail as adults but their names are not being shared at this time due to their age.

Martin said additional arrests are expected but no further information is available at this time.
