HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams garnered five USTFCCCA All-America selections across three events following the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

A native of Covington, Georgia,
Michael Gizzi led the way for the UAH men's team as he earned Outdoor All-American in both 100 meters and 200 meters for the second time in his career.

He qualified for both events at Outdoor Nationals, finishing fifth in 200 meters at a time of 20.59 and 12th in 100 meters at 10.44. Gizzi was named a First Team All-American in 200 meters, while being a Second Team selection in 100 meters.

The Chargers 4x100 meters relay team of
Ijah Drake,
Zakiria Holifield,
Krystalynn Oatman and
Chandler Robinson on the women's side combined for First Team All-American status with a sixth-place finish in the relay race at Outdoor Nationals.

The quartet becomes UAH's first All-Americans in the 4x100 meters relay since Katelin Barber, Ackiesha Burnett, Mariah Tolbert and Eden Williams in 2015.

Student-athletes earned First-Team USTFCCCA All-American honors by virtue of finishing among the top-eight in their respective events – including as a member of a relay team – at the 2023 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Pueblo, Colorado.

Second-team selections were given to those athletes who finished in spots Nos. 9-12 in individual events. Ninth and tenth-place relay teams also earned the distinction.
