VW has published a teaser of the upcoming three-row ID. Buzz ahead of its world premiere on June 2.

As far as teasers go, this one reveals very little. In fact, all it showcases is the ID. Buzz from the front, showing its headlights, LED lightbar, daytime running lights, and illuminated VW logo, all of which appear identical to the two-row model. After brightening up the image, we can also see the familiar front grille that looks identical to overseas models.

The three-row ID. Buzz is an important model for the car manufacturer as it is the first version of the electric van that will be offered in the United States. In addition to having three rows, this new version will benefit from an extended wheelbase and definitely has the potential to be a strong seller for VW.

VW will live stream the unveiling of the three-row ID. Buzz on YouTube, starting at 12:30pm ET / 9:30am PT on June 2. The unveiling will take place at an event in Huntington Beach, California and will be open to the media and members of the public. This event won’t just feature the ID. Buzz but will also play host to a ‘Cars & Coffee’ style event for current VW microbus owners. Live entertainment will also be provided and comedian Gabriel Iglesias will even be in attendance.

VW has also declared that starting this year, June 2 will be known as International Volkswagen Bus Day.

Technical specifications about the three-row ID. Buzz have not yet been confirmed but we know that the existing model is outfitted with an 82 kWh battery pack that gives it a range of up to 263 miles (423 km) on a single charge. Given the new model’s larger wheelbase, it is entirely possible that it will rock a slightly larger battery. It could also have more grunt than the current model with its 201 hp and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque.
