Pasco County sheriff’s officials are asking the public’s help as they work to identify a set of bones that were found earlier this week off U.S. 19 in Hudson.

Someone reported finding the bones Monday in a wooded area near U.S. 19 and Ideal Lane.

A community alert released Friday said that the bones appear to be those of an adult man. He wore a collared shirt, size 36 jeans, Adidas shorts, plaid boxers, and red-and-white Nike shoes, size 10½. Sheriff’s officials released a picture of one of the shoes.

Sheriff’s officials said the man, at some point in his life, suffered a broken lower left leg and a fracture to the left side of his head, near his eye. The injuries appear unrelated to the man’s death, the cause of which has not been determined, they said.
