By Jake Matson, Asbury Park Press,

It's time for APP readers to cast their vote for the Shore's high school team of the week for the final time of the spring regular season.

Nearly every spring sport has a field set for the Shore Conference Tournament and golf has already moved on into the NJSIAA sectional playoffs. The looming postseason has provided teams with the chance to make their mark on this list as they aim to get hot at the right time.

The Week 5 poll will remain open until 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 16. There is no limit on voting. So read the capsules below and please cast your vote in the poll at the bottom of the article.

More: How a father-daughter thumbs up signal rocked the Ocean County high school softball final

Week 1 Winner: Howell boys volleyball took an impressive 76% of the vote after a start that featured a win over a reigning state champ, St. John Vianney. The Rebels weren't able to topple another powerhouse in Southern, but bounced back from that defeat with victories over serious Shore contenders CBA and Colts Neck.

Week 2 Winner: Rumson-Fair Haven boys lacrosse had an incredible late push in the polls, winning 50.56% percent of the vote to take team of the week honors. The Bulldogs were certainly deserving given their 10-0 start.

Week 3 Winner: Point Pleasant Boro softball took first with over 75% of the vote. The Panthers knocked off Southern in the Ocean County Tournament and went on to win the tournament final against Toms River East.

    Week 4 Winner: TBD.

    Softball - Manasquan

The Warriors have displayed their grit all season. They've played possibly the most difficult schedule of any team in the Shore, and they've responded by winning seven of their last eight and are riding a five-game win streak heading into the Shore Conference Tournament.

    Baseball - Wall

The Knights have won nine of their last 10 games, although the lone blemish was a painful upset loss to Howell in the Monmouth County Tournament. That setback makes the run of wins more impressive, as they bounced right back to remain a serious contender in the Shore.

    Boys Lacrosse - Donovan Catholic

The Griffins have won seven straight games, including winning their last six by five goals or more. Donovan sits atop the Freedom Division as they prepare to face Holmdel in the first round of the Shore Conference Tournament.

    Girls Lacrosse - Manalapan

The Braves have had a few hiccups since starting the season 8-0, but they hold the top spot in the Freedom Division at 10-2. They aim for another win against Toms River North on Thursday.

    Boys Golf - Holmdel

The Hornets took first in NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 2, beating out powerhouse division rival Wall by six strokes for the top spot despite losing to the Knights twice earlier in the season.

    Girls Golf - Southern

It was a difficult postseason for most of the Shore teams, but the Rams were the top finisher from the conference in the NJSIAA South Section, finishing ahead of St. Rose.

Boys Volleyball - St. John Vianney

The Lancers lost several major contributors from last year's state championship team, and yet once again they've grown into a contender with the Shore Conference Tournament starting this weekend. SJV has won seven of their last eight with the lone loss coming in a competitive 2-1 showdown against Southern.

    Boys Tennis - Rumson-Fair Haven

The Bulldogs' only two losses came against the top two seeds in the Shore Conference Tournament, Marlboro and CBA. They ended the regular season with a key win over Midd South and cruised to victory in their first matchup of the SCT with a victory against Midd North.
