Fugitive Arrested Following Vehicle Pursuit Wanted for 2022 Murder

COLUMBUS, OH – The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Evan Jones, a suspect in a 2022 homicide, in Houston, Texas, following a vehicle pursuit on Thursday. The second suspect, Jermaine Johnson, had been previously apprehended by Columbus Police SWAT officers on March 30, 2023.

The two men are believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Anthony Elmore in South Linden in November 2022. Columbus Police were called to the 1100 block of E. 16th Avenue to investigate reports of gunfire and found Elmore suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
