Thursday’s Opening Day matchup between the Houston Astros and the Chicago White Sox featured an absolutely awful ceremonial first pitch coming from famous rap artist Megan Thee Stallion.

It has gone viral — for several reasons.

Megan Pete, better known as Megan Thee Stallion took the mound to start the season for the Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Unfortunately, she didn’t exactly look to be in her element on Thursday night.

As she took the mound, she took a second to pose for the camera. She was then notified that she was about to go over the league’s new pitch clock, which also apparently applies toceremonial first pitches. She then proceeded to throw the first pitch way outside into the left-handed hitters’ batting box.

She could even be heard before throwing the ball that she “was scared” and even questioning who to throw the ball to despite the catcher clearly being behind the plate.

It is certainly a moment that she will struggle to live down. Many around the MLB world took notice of the viral video and offered their opinion on the lackluster first pitch.

While her pitch certainly wasn’t a strike, others actually gave her credit for some pretty solid form on the throw.

This moment for Megan Thee Stallion certainly could have been better. Regardless, it is still a very cool honor that she got to do this for her hometown Houston Astros.
