Local man charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assualt of minors
A Hot Spring County man is due in court next month to face felony charges related to allegations of rape and sexual assault of multiple minor victims. Court papers filed in HSC Circuit Court on Oct. 11 state that Donald R. Davidson, 55, of Malvern is charged with three counts of rape and two counts of second degree sexual assault, in relation to crimes against three victims who were all minors when Davidson committed the alleged acts.

Hot Spring County sheriff hit with three more criminal charges
A federal grand jury has returned three charges against Hot Spring County Sheriff Scott Finkbeiner in addition to an obstruction of justice charge he already faced. In an indictment last week, the grand jury accused Finkbeiner, 46, of another count of obstruction as well as failure to report illegal drug activity and efforts to conceal it. The third charge against him alleges that he had knowledge of a person maintaining “a drug-involved premises” but did not report the matter as soon as possible and even tried to conceal its existence from the FBI.

Community divided about charges against HSC Sheriff Scott Finkbeiner
The community is voicing strong and varied opinions on the recent arrest of Hot Spring County Sheriff, Scott Finkbeiner, and the allegations brought forth against him. Finkbeiner was taken into custody by federal authorities on Nov. 2 and charged with one count of obstruction of justice. He was held at the Saline County Detention Center until Judge Mark E. Ford, Chief Magistrate for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, ordered Finkbeiner’s conditional release during an initial hearing the following day.
