Ashaway Fire Department rescues 2 from Hopkinton crash

The Ashaway Fire Department shared these photos of responders rescuing two people from a car accident.

ASHAWAY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Ashaway Fire Department said they rescued two people from a car accident Saturday night.

Firefighters said they responded to the area between Exit 4 and Exit 1 on Route-95 South.

On arrival, they said they found two vehicles with heavy damage off the side of the highway.

The Ashaway Ambulance Association said they took two people to Rhode Island Hospital.

Cleanup from the accident took roughly three hours and responders said the area was clear by 11:00 p.m.

The cause of the crash and state of the victims was not immediately released.
