The Hope Civitan Club recently heard from Beckie Moore, executive director of the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association, who summarized progress made by the association in the last year and promoted “Big Sounds Downtown” — a free concert series provided to the community by KHMA.
Moore (right), pictured with Civitan President Mona Still, said KHMA is continuing the restoration of the Feild house — welcome site for all things Klipsch — including the planned creation of a backyard venue.  She said a grant has been received for that project and she is currently working on a second grant for renovation of the carriage house adjacent to the Feild house on Division Street.
She also enlightened Civitans on partnerships with local schools to include projects based on the STEAM curriculum of science, technology, engineering, art and math.
Moore invited Civitans and the general public to enjoy “Big Sounds Downtown” at the Hub.  The first of the concert series was held Thursday, June 1, with Jacob Flores of Hot Springs performing.  The next concert will be July 6 with the Dusty Rose Band’s “good old rock and roll” and the final concert will be August 3 with Covie the Band providing the “Big Sound.”  Becky encouraged everyone to bring a chair and enjoy the music through Klipsch speakers.
