HPD charges Kaneal Rhea on Saturday, March 25, after he gets caught burglarizing a Diamond Head home.
HONOLULU (KITV4) - A man is behind bars after he was charged for attempted burglary in the first degree.
Honolulu Police Department said Kaneal Rhea was found inside a home in the Diamond Head area Friday morning.
Homeowners could tell someone may have broken in from signs like doors and window screens being open. The homeowner, a 74-year-old woman noticed many of her items were in the laundry room where the suspect was hiding.
Rhea was arrested at that moment.
30-year-old Kaneal Rhea has a history of similar offenses and has been sent to jail several times for criminal trespassing in the past few years.
He is currently being held on a $10,000 bail.
