Woman interferes with arrest to kick Cortland County deputy

HOMER, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Just after 7 p.m. on April 23, deputies from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department were sent to a domestic disturbance call.

At the home on Albany Street in the Village of Homer, deputies were working to take an uncooperative male into custody.

That is when 22-year-old Brianna Brown, interfered with the arrest by kicking a deputy.

According to the sheriff’s office, Brown then tried to run away but was taken into custody without further incident.

She was arrested and taken to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, where she was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

Brown was charged with:

  • Resisting arrest, a misdemeanor
  • Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation

She is scheduled to be in court on May 7.
