Fire under porch of apartment building on Main Street in Holyoke put out

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Crews worked to put out a fire on Main Street in Holyoke Thursday morning.

According to the Holyoke Fire Department, residents and drivers were asked to avoid the area of Main and Sargeant Streets. Fire Captain David Rex told 22News that the fire was put out at an apartment building located at 459 Main St. All residents in the 12 units made it out safely and the fire was mostly contained to an outdoor area underneath a back porch.
