Peterson, IA (KICD)–A Holstein man is facing a number of charges after allegedly fleeing from Clay County law enforcement over the weekend.
A Deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was reportedly running radar near Peterson around 10:30 Sunday night when a traffic stop was initiated on a speeding vehicle. Instead of pulling over, the driver is said to have continued to increase velocity reaching speeds in excess of 110 mph during a pursuit that was ended at the Peterson city limits.
28-year-old Wesley Euchner was later found of have left the road when going around a curve in town causing damage to private property before being taken into custody in Kirschner Park.
Euchner has been charged with two counts of interference with official acts, driving while suspended, failure to maintain control, failure to provide insurance, speeding, violation of conditions of a restricted license. failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. Authorities say an investigation into possible OWI charges is ongoing.
