Boys Tennis State Tournament Scoreboard: No. 33 Pioneer Valley Christian narrowly defeats No. 32 Holliston & more

No. 33 Pioneer Valley Christian (3), No. 32 Holliston (2)

No. 33 Pioneer Valley Christian defeated No. 32 Holliston, 3-2, in the Division III boys tennis state tournament Preliminary Round on Tuesday.

In first singles, Pioneer Valley Christian’s Brad Hill defeated Arjun Pillai 7-5, 6-0, while in second singles, Holliston’s Ronan Floredo defeated. Brandon Aikman 6-4, 7-6. In third singles, Pioneer Valley Christian’s Sam Shively defeated Dan Patten 7-6, 7-5.

In first doubles, Holliston’s Sohan Jovali and Declan Collins defeated Gabe Malloy and Alejandro Rodriguez 6-2, 6-0, while Pioneer Valley Christian’s Reese Ficarra and Patrick Sherman defeated Lorenzo Graffo and Sebastian Dumont 6-2, 6-7, 6-1.

Pioneer Valley Christian will take on No. 1 Wayland in the Round of 32 on June 1.

No. 32 Quaboag (3), No. 33 Frontier (2)

No. 33 Frontier fell to No. 32 Quaboag, 3-2, in the Division IV boys tennis state tournament preliminary round on Tuesday.

Quaboag’s Brandon Allen defeated Miles Keefe 6-3, 6-3 in first singles, and Evan Long defeated Frontier’s Jacob Han 6-3, 6-2 in second singles. Quaboag’s Owen Allen defeated Robert Fuqua 6-4, 7-6 in third singles.

The Red Hawks’ Oliver Brown and Brayden Reipold defeated Dylan Paquette and Dylan Piazzo 6-1, 6-2 in first doubles. In second doubles, Frontier’s Caiden Manning and Harrison Wright defeated Blake Lopato and Camden Olivio 6-0, 6-3 in second doubles.

No. 31 Leicester (5), No. 34 Hampden Charter School of Science East (0)

No. 34 Hampden Charter School of Science East fell to No. 31 Leicester, 5-0, in the Division IV boys tennis state tournament preliminary round on Tuesday.
