I recently started a new job that required a lot of out of pocket expenses to start. This plus the time without a job left me about 650 dollars short for rent. I was able to bring that down to about 450 so far with the pay I have made so far and plan on still working everyday to catch up but this weeks pay will not show up until 11/16 so I in no way will be able to pay this in 3 three days they are asking. I am a single parent and the other parent is out of the picture. There is a lot of charities I see online that claim to help but I am looking for the one that will fit my situation as I will be working everyday and will not have time to call ALL of these places and I only have 3 days to get this taken care of. If anybody that has been through this before can tell me what to expect i would be grateful.

OK, now that I’ve found a place to live, I need to furnish it. I will buy some things used (maybe on consignment), but may need a couple of new pieces like a recliner and possibly a sofa or small bistro table. Where would local Omaha natives or recent transplants suggest I look first?

I get up to Omaha once or twice a week from Lincoln. Most parts of Omaha are nice, but I am more alert and tend to stay away from Northeast Omaha from Ames down to Cummings and east of 36th Street. The crime rates in that part of town are very high. True, it is a predominantly black area, but what concerns me is the drug and gang activity.
