Greenwall named Semo Conference Player of the Year
The Poplar Bluff Mules baseball team had a solid season and the voters within their conference took notice. The Mules finished with a 19-12 record and broke a few school records along the way. Senior Kolby Greenwall was named SEMO All-Conference Baseball Player of the Year. Greenwall closed out the regular season batting average of .516 with 48 hits. He collected 34 singles, five doubles, eight triples, three homeruns and 34 RBIs. After collecting his 39th hit of the season, Greenwall now holds the Mules hit record for a single season. The record was held for over eight years when Kameron Misner set the record with 38 hits back in 2016. Greenwall added another record under his belt in a matchup against Kelly High School, where he collected his 31st single, breaking the single-season record. The record was previously held by Tyson Cox with 30 singles in 2016.

Two people charged with drug trafficking after undercover narcotics investigation
DEXTER, Mo. (KFVS) - Two people have been arrested in Stoddard County and have been charged with drug trafficking. According to the sheriff’s office, on Tuesday, May 14, deputies assigned to the SEMO Drug Task Force were conducting an undercover narcotics investigation. During the investigation, deputies received information that 34-year-old Milton Taylor Jr. of Poplar Bluff was on his way to sell Fentanyl in the Dexter area.
