Hinckley City Council Approves Annexing Land from Barry Township

The Hinckley City Council approved annexing nine acres of Barry Township during its meeting on March 15.

The process to acquire the property began after Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures petitioned the city to take the land located south of Lady Luck Drive along Morris Ave.

As part of the ordinance, Hinckley will pay Barry Township $448.76, spilt into two yearly cash payments, for property tax reimbursement.

Along with the annexation, the Hinckley City Council approved city staff to work with the township's attorney for an orderly transition.
