HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii Department of Transportation gave a heads-up to travelers on Thursday about delays at Hilo International Airport and Lihue Airport.
According to the HDOT, Hilo International Airport had one of its two security checkpoint lanes down since around 4 p.m. Travelers with flights at 6:15 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. were advised to arrive an hour and a half early.
Repairs to the security checkpoint lane are underway.
Earlier in the day, parking lots were full at Lihue Airport on Kauai.
HDOT had implemented a one-in/one-out policy. By around 5:30 p.m. the parking lot was reopened with 36 stalls available.
