The blood drive volunteer is an integral member of our team whose tasks include assisting donors with registration and/or at the refreshment area. No medical background necessary. Volunteers should be outgoing to provide friendly customer service, be able to perform tasks as needed and must provide proof of COVID Vaccination prior to volunteering. Must have transportation. All training is provided including additional precautions for the safety of our team and blood donors. No injuries reported in garage fire
A detached garage on Camplain Road caught on fire during the early morning hours of Nov. 26, according to the Hillsborough Township Police Department. Police responded with fire companies to 2211 Camplain Road for the report of an active structure fire at 12:25 a.m. Upon arrival, police discovered a detached garage engulfed in flames. Responding firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. The garage was unoccupied and no injuries were reported. The fire was not deemed suspicious but remains under investigation.
Hillsborough Township man charged in alleged sexual contact incidents near Rutgers campus
A 29-year-old Hillsborough Township man has been charged in connection with multiple incidents of sexual contact within the City of New Brunswick, near the Rutgers University College Avenue Campus, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, Director Anthony Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department, and Chief Kenneth Cop of the Rutgers University Police Department.
New Hillsborough school hires expected to begin after new year
The Hillsborough Township Public Schools are “thankful” this holiday season. Voters headed to the polls and passed two referendum questions on Nov. 7 – one on school security and one on bringing back 20 staff positions that were cut due to targeted state aid decreases, school officials said.

New Jersey is experiencing a 23.4% decline in unsheltered homelessness, according to the state’s Department of Community Affairs (DCA). The DCA also announced that there was an increase in access to prevention programs, which aid to keep people from becoming homeless, at a press conference inside Homefront in Lawrenceville on Nov. 13.

It goes almost without saying – but I’ll say it anyway – that all the land in New Jersey once belonged to the Indigenous people who lived here for millennia before European colonization. Historic cupola symbolizes Hillsborough’s ‘rich heritage’
