Saturday traffic accidents injures three people
A Festus man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on northbound I-55 north of Imperial Main on Saturday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 30-year-old Ricky Angus of St. Louis was driving a 1998 Nissan Frontier and traveled off the roadway, then overcorrected back onto the road and struck the median. A passenger in the vehicle, 35-year-old Anthony Figueroa of Festus was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with serious injuries. The accident took place a little after 9:30 Saturday morning.
Mock Emergency Simulation
There will be a mock emergency simulation training on Thursday, April 6th. Approximately 80 people from 30 surrounding communities will be participating. The mock emergencies will be held at Gibault High School and at the station near Northwinds Drive. Arnold reschedules indoor pool closure at rec center
The roof replacement at the Arnold Recreation Center has been delayed by a week, which means the city also has put off closing the indoor pool by a week. The pool is now expected to be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. between March 27 and March 31 and again from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. between April 3 and April 7. The pool activities and programs will still take place after 3 p.m.
New administrative hires at Hillsboro schools
(Hillsboro) The Hillsboro R-3 School District will have five new administrators taking the reigns in principal roles next school year. The changes will fill the positions of three administrators who are retiring. Those retiring from administration positions are: Heath Allison, Scott Readnour and Jim Ramsay. Meanwhile, Food Service Director Kim Jackson is retiring and so is Debbie Spiller, the district’s Transportation director. In regards to the building administrators, Hillsboro Superintendent Jon Isaacson says one new promotion is within the district while another hire is coming from out of state.

Two charged following altercation
A Red Bud man and a Columbia man were both charged with multiple felonies following an incident that took place last week in Columbia. In a press release, Columbia Police Chief Jason Donjon reported that on March 15 Monroe County State’s Attorney Ryan Webb issued arrest warrants for Corey Embrich, 33, of Red Bud, and Anthony Polka, 31, of Columbia, both for armed violence (a Class 2 felony), aggravated battery (a Class 3 felony) and mob action (a Class 4 felony).
