Missing Child Alert cancelled for 7-month-old Florida boy
SEBRING, Fla. — On Thursday, a missing child alert was issued out of Highlands County, but that child has been declared safe. Officials with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said a missing 7-month-old from Sebring was believed to be with a 22-year-old woman. FDLE issued a missing child alert for the baby on Thursday morning.
Nearly 55 acres of land scorched following brush fire in Highlands County
The Sebring Fire Department and the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office responded to a brush fire that nearly devastated homes in the area. The fire was reported to emergency response crews around noon on Sunday around Kenmore Street and Granada Boulevard near the south end of Sun ‘n Lake of Sebring.

He was born Jan. 16, 1954, in Hingham, Mass., to James Herald and Betty (Falletti) Webb Sr. He worked as a carpenter, served in the U.S. Navy, and has been a resident of Hardee/Highlands County since the early 1990’s, coming from Hingham.
Large brush fire in Highlands County
Highlands County Fire Rescue is responding to an active brush fire scene near the south end of Sun ‘n Lake of Sebring. Around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, Highlands County Fire Rescue responded to the fire along with the Highlands County Sheriff’s office, The Florida Fire Service, and the Sebring Fire Department.
Fire in Sebring causes residents to be evacuated; local road closed
SEBRING, Fla. — Some residents in Sebring are being evacuated from their homes because of a large brush fire, according to alerts by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office. People who live on Granada Boulevard between Edgewater Drive and Ortego Street are being told to leave. Residents can go to the community center in Sun 'n Lake if they are being evacuated or can't reach their homes.
