At least two fatal incidents reported Sunday on Interstate 15 one near Hesperia

Interstate 15 on Sunday was the scene of a fatal rollover near Mountain Pass and also where a driver in the Cajon Pass was 
found unresponsive and later died at a local hospital.

Interstate 15 on Sunday was the scene of a fatal rollover near Mountain Pass and also where a driver in the Cajon Pass was found unresponsive and later died at a local hospital. 

The rollover collision was reported at about 1:48 a.m. on northbound I-15 near the Cima Road exit and between Halloran Summit Road and Mountain Pass, California Highway Patrol reported.

San Bernardino County Fire and CHP officers responded to the scene where they found a heavily damaged vehicle that had rolled multiple times. 

CHP logs reported that the county Sheriff-Coroner’s Office was requested at the scene.

The coroner did not indicate how many people died or were involved in the rollover or identities.

The collision is under investigation by the CHP Barstow Office.

Cajon Pass incident

Around 12:07 a.m., a man was found unresponsive while inside his vehicle in the center divider of southbound I-15 just south of Oak Hill Road near Hesperia, CHP reported.

County firefighters responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. 

The identity of the driver has not been released by the coroner’s office. 

This incident is under investigation by CHP Inland Office.
